Revenge Night - Rolling Thunder

This is just fucked up and brutal and painful to watch and amazing. QT showed us what ultimately I felt was his primary inspiration for Kill Bill. This movie is tough to watch, though. Easier when you’ve seen John Carradine in the audience for some reason. It makes me wonder if QT invited Carradine to this to say “See, this is the kind of movie I want to make, and all you gotta do is show up just a little bit for it.” Grab a bunch of beer and watch it. It hurts, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t worth it.
Revenge Night - Framed

It is difficult for a die-hard MST3K fan of Mitchell such as myself to watch Joe Don without thinking of Hoyt Axton singing “My, my, my, my, my Mitchell.” and “Joel, why would anyone DO THAT with Mitchell?!” Nevertheless, Joe Don gives a great lost to history performance as a guy whose set up through an accidental killing of the Sheriff.
Bunch-Of-Guys-On-A-Mission-War-Movie Night - Eastern Condors

The Dirty Dozen meets Honk Kong kung-fu action cinema, and all for the best. Sammo kicks ass all over in a flick about a bunch of imprisoned misfits sent on what’s supposed to be a suicide mission. Hot chicks kick ass in this one. Note to American directors: let some hot chicks kick ass please. THIS makes me excited about the rumored Inglorious Bastards (crossing my fingers than Grindhouse didn’t hurt QT’s hopes of making that - loved Grindhouse, btw) since QT will, without question, find a way to work an ass-kicking gal into the mix.

This was probably the biggest “Wow!” film for me of QT5. Just a god damned fucking amazing kick ass bunch of guys on a mission war movie set in the Congo. Brutal, bloody, and ass-kicking. I can’t say enough good things about it. Thanks Quentin.
Good Ol’ Boys Night - Brotherhood Of Death

The second movie of the night. I didn’t know at the time, but this was damn, damn good preparation for what was in store for me the next several Decembers of my life.
Good Ol’ Boys Night - Dixie Dynamite
Wednesday, August 22, 2001
This was my introduction to The Original Alamo Draft House: Quentin Tarantino introducing Dixie Dynamite. It was a hell of a piece of 70s B movie history. Sort of a strange version of The Dukes of Hazzard, but with full frontal nudity with girls that have a LOT of talents.
