Remember The Alamo

Remembering the Alamo is going to be a bit of different saying to the folks of Austin.  It isn’t going to be about some dusty fort where a pointless last stand was made and which doesn’t have a basement for bike thieves to hide their ill gotten gains.  No, it’s going to be about remembering a whole hell of a lot of fantastic cinematic experiences.  Movie events that many of us in other parts of the world sit at our computers and read about with great envy.

Of course, some of us found a way to be there for some of those mind blowing, envy-inducing events.  And we loved it.  Every second of it.  The Original Alamo Draft House has led to friendships, discoveries of great things, memories, experiences that borderline religious fervor, and so much more.  Hearing that it is closing and moving is like hearing they’ve decided to shut down Notre Dome and relocate it closer to the Eiffel Tower.  You understand why but you still cry a little inside.

This is a remembrance of my experiences at the Alamo Draft House.

My first experience at The Original Alamo Draft House was QT5, above left and right.  My second, BNAT3, top center.  And one of my favorite, BNAT6, bottom center.
