Fern Wärme Wien – 45 viewsPart of the enormous incinerator building in Vienna in the Spittelau area of town. It was re-designed from a regular incineration plant by the artist Hundertwasser.

Roman Ruins @ The Hofburg – 38 viewsThe Hofburg palace is built on the foundation of others. Mainly older Vienna and old Roman encampments, seen here.

Coffee @ Cafe Melange – 52 viewsMelange is a type of drink in Vienna that is very similar to a cappacino here in the states. The drink I have here, though, is not a melange, but a Fiaker, which is hot coffee, rum and whipped cream (not sweet whipped cream, but whipped heavy cream without sugar in it).1 comments

Jamie @ Fern Warme Wien – 36 viewsMe in front of the Hundertwasser redesigned incineration plant. Yes, those are trees growing out of the roof, as it was a common theme of his.

Art Art Everywhere – 33 viewsAll over Vienna you would find art at locations like this. Just parts of buildings, or installed at the base of a building where windows would be. It was fascinating.

*CLINK* Austrian Dunkles and Austrian Red – 33 viewsOur last night in Vienna we went to Cafe Benno located at the intersection of Alser Strasse and Benno Strasse. We drank up and had Wienerschnitzel. No kidding.

Translation: Please Wash – 35 viewsSeems that the desire to write "wash me" into the grimy dirt caked on cars and windows is universal.
kunsthauswien.jpg
Kunst House Wien Panorama – 49 viewsKunst Haus Wien is an amazing museum that houses a permanent collection of the work of Hundertwasser as well as an area for rotating exhibits. When we were there they were having an exhibit of Albert Watson, a famous American photographer who has done dozens of covers for Rolling Stone and Vogue.

Fern Warme Wien – 30 viewsThe sign leading to the entrace of the Hundertwasser designed incinerator/heating plant.

Kids Acting Goofy In Stephansplatz – 25 viewsSome kids were getting balloon swords from the balloon guy and wacking each other with them. Goofballs. :)

Base Of The Plague Monument @ Graben Square – 25 viewsThis is a pneumonic plauge monument. It's hard to explain in short. Here's a link: http://www.talkingcities.co.uk/vienna_pages/sights_alpha10.htm They have beautifully refurbished it, and were still working on it, as you see here.
